Abstract
Repair and reconstruction of huge abdominal wall defects, especially following extensive abdominal wall tumor resection is still a challenge to most of surgeons. An initial assessment and comprehensive preoperative care are essential before the operation. A simple classification system should be proposed and the algorithm for abdominal repair and reconstruction based on the classification system will guide the surgeon in selecting the most appropriate repair and reconstructive options in treatment of patients with huge abdominal wall defects. Prosthetic repair, components separation and pedicled or free flaps are the most important surgical techniques for abdominal wall defect reconstruction.关键词
