Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study on the protective effects of Compound cantharis injection(CCI) on anthracycline chemotherapy induced cardiac injury in breast cancer patients. METHODS: The medical records of 111 breast cancer inpatients in our hospital during Jan. 2010 to Jun. 2011 who should be given anthracycline (adriamycin, epirubicin or pirarubicin) chemotherapy were reviewed retrospectively. The patients were divided into CCI normal dose group (38 cases) and CCI high dose group (32 cases) and control group (41 cases) according to drug use. The 2 observation groups were treated with CCI of different single dosage (50 mL·d -1 or 100 mL·d-1) on the basis of the treatment of control group and chemotherapy. The degree of cardiac injury, cardiac function and quality of life were evaluated after chemotherapy. RESULTS: The degree of cardiac injury, cardiac function and quality of life in 2 observation groups were all better than control group (F＜0.05), and the incidence of abnormal electrocardiogram was lower than control group. At the same time, therapeutic efficacy of CCI high dose group was slightly better than CCI normal dose group (P＞0.05), and quality of life score in high dose group was significantly better than normal dose group (P＜0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Compound cantharis injection can protect against anthracycline chemotherapy induced cardiac injury and improve the quality of life.关键词
