Applications of QQC Activity in Reducing the Error Rate of Drug Dispensing in Outpatient Pharmacy of Our Hospital

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To reduce the error rate of drug dispensing in outpatient pharmacy of our hospital, and to improve the quality of pharmaceutical care. METHODS: On the subject of "reducing drug inventory amount of outpatient pharmacy", the activities were conducted in outpatient pharmacy of our hospital according to 10 steps of quality control circle (QCC), and visible achievement and invisible achievement were evaluated. RESULTS: Through conducting QCC activity, countermeasures of several aspects were formulated, such as prescribing staff checked label printed, drugs were arranged on the window after dispensing; 2 similar drugs with same composition and different specifications should be separated by other kinds of drugs and then labeled with striking mark, etc. Compared with before improvement, the error rate of drug dispensing in outpatient pharmacy decreased by 62.9% in visible achievement (29.25 events vs. 10.85 events), and the up-to-standard rate of the goal was 120.66%. In invisible achievement, the scores of quality control method, problem-solving ability and responsibility of staff were improved significantly. CONCLUSIONS: The development of QQC activity can improve the quality of pharmaceutical care in outpatient pharmacy and promote safe and effective drug use in the clinic.关键词
