Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To find out the occurrence of adverse drug reaction (ADR) and related costs in our hospital, and to promote the rational use of drugs in the clinic. METHODS: ADR reports collected from our hospital during Dec. 2008-Apr. 2011 were analyzed from the aspects of the patients' sex and age, route of administration, drug types involved, organs or systems involved in ADR, clinical manifestation and increased costs resulted from ADR, etc. RESULTS: ADR caused by anti-microbial agents was the most, accounting for 56.68%, while TCM preparation accounting for 29.03% ; the most route of administration was intravenous dripping infusion, accounting for 55.45% ; the main ADR type was the lesion of skin and its appendants, accounting for 41.71%. The ADR occurrence lead to the direct cost up to 259.33 yuan per capita and prolong the hospital stays to 4.5 days av-eragely. CONCLUSION: Importance should be attached to the ADR reporting and monitoring in the clinic. We should use the anti-bacterials properly, avoid or reduce the occurrence of ADR, and reduce the costs resulted from ADR.关键词
