Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the in vitro antibacterial effects of silver nanoparticle solution and silver nanoparticle gel in order to provide theoretical basis for external application of silver nanoparticles for anti-infection of burn and scald. METHODS: Using sulfadiazine silver as positive control, the minimum inhibitory concentrations of silver nanoparticles solution and silver nanoparticle gel to Pseudomonas aenigmosa, Staphyhcoccus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus proteus, Serratia marcescens, Pseudomonas spec, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterococcus, Klebsiella pnewnoniae, Candida albicans were determined by tube double dilution method. RESULTS: The minimum inhibitory concentrations of silver nanoparticle solution, silver nanoparticle gel and sulfadiazine silver to above 10 bacterials were 2.5-10 μg·mL-1, 4~32 μg·mL-1, 32~64 μg·mL-1. Antibacterial effects of silver nanoparticles solution and silver nanoparticle gel were better than sulfadiazine silver. CONCLUSION: The two forms of silver nanoparticles have broad antibacterial spectrum and strong antibacterial activity in vitro, which provide theoretical basis for external application of silver nanoparticles for anti-infection of burn and scald.
