BAHA softband in patients with congenital malformation of middle and outer ears

Abstract
Objective To report outcomes of the bone-anchored hearing aid (BAHA) softband in patients with bilateral congenital malformation of middle and outer ears. Method Auditory functions before and after BAHA softbands application were compared in 6 cases, including daily communication, pure tone (sound field) audiometry or condition reflex audiometry. Results Daily communication improved significantly in all 6 patients per patients or parents and audiometric thresholds improved by an average of 30.2 dB after BAHA softband application. Conclution The BAHA softband is a simple, effective hearing solution for bilateral congenital malormation of middle and outer ears.关键词
