Abstract
Objective To investigate serum retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4) and high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels in patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicated with coronary heart disease (CHD) and the clinical significance. Methods Serum sample were taken from 35 patients of T2DM with CHD, 37 patients with T2DM and 35 normal controls. RBP4 was measured with ELISA, and hs-CRP was measured with immune nephelometry. Results The patients of T2DM with CHD had significantly higher levels of RBP4 and hs-CRP than those of T2DM patients and normal controls (all P< 0.05), serum RBP4 levels were positively correlated with hs-CRP levels (r= 0.342, P<0.05). Conclusion Patients of T2DM complicated with CHD have high serum levels of RBP4 and hs-CRP, which may be involved in the development of these two diseases.关键词
