摘要

Abstract

Mercury-free dielectric barrier discharge type flat fluorescent lamps (DBD-FFLs) are a kind of environmentally-friendly light sources with excellent electro-optical characteristics. It can be used as not only the LCD backlights with good luminance uniformity but also the decorative illumination lamps with an advantage of low cost. This paper introduces the primary developments of DBD-FFL in recent years, especially in the core techniques such as the electrode structure design, dielectric material development and discharge gas optimization and driving technology development.
