Abstract
Responding to the negative criticism that the couplet in Shakespeare＇s sonnet 116 is semantically disconnected and logically obscure, this paper analyses the logic of the couplet, in an attempt to expound its structural significance and logical implication, revealing how the couplet enhances the poetic wholeness in terms of style, meaning, emotional transference , and dramatic completion.关键词
