The volatile organic compounds in the odor released during the composting treatment of livestock and poultry manure were on-site detected by a portable GC-MS. Twenty kinds of organic components, including sulfur compounds, aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and chlori-nated organic compounds, were detected.
