An Effective DNA Sequences Similarity Based on 4D Representation

Abstract
In this paper, we divide each DNA sequence into two parts symmetrically. Thus, it can keep more position information and each DNA fragment can be examined by the geometrical centers of the 4D graphical representation. Then we use Euclidean distance to calculate similarities/dissimilarities matrix among the coding sequences of the first exon of β -globin genes of 11 different species. It was found that the Euclidean distance between evolutionary closely related species are smaller, while those between evolutionary disparate species are larger. The detecting conclusion suggests that dividing sequences into two parts can reflect the position information more effectively and statistical significantly. These results will be helpful to understand the similarity of DNA sequences influenced by position information.关键词
