Abstract
Objective: To explore the prognostic value of the kinetic serum CA125 detection in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer. Method: The level of serum CA125 were examined in 42 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer primarily underwent operation in this hospital from Jan. 2003 to Dec. 2008 , calculated the serum CA125 half-life and the normalized time, analyzed the median survival time and the mean time of recurrence. Result: The median survival times of patients( n = 22 ) with CA125 half 條ife =20 days and those ( n = 20 )>20 days, were 38 months and 15 months ( P<0. 05 ). Further, patients with serum CA125 normalized time = 8 weeks ( n = 23 ) experienced a median survival of 37 months, compared to only 23 months for those ( n= 19 )>8 weeks ( P<0. 05 ). Finally, the recurrent rate in patients with normalized time >8 weeks was higher than those =8 weeks. In contrast, the recurrent mean time was shorter than those =8 weeks. Conclusion: It is useful to predict treatment response and prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer by serum CA125 decreased markers such as half-life and normalized time, the latter is more convenient. The increase of CA125 after treatment indicated recurrence.关键词
