匾额楹联是苏州园林中重要的文化要素，起着使花柳生色、山水含情的作用；通过分析其中取自名家名作精妙句子的集联，追溯其出处，了解其原意以及集而为联之后产生的新涵义和新意境，能够更好地体会集联属对工整、意脉流畅、意境浑成的艺术效果，从而在园林观赏中获得更丰富、更高层次的审美感受。
Tablets and couplets are very important elements in Suzhou classic gardens, they give plants and land-scapes full of meanings.
