Abstract

In LOS environment, TDOA and electric wave AOA location technology can achieve better results, but in NLOS environment, it cannot achieve good positioning effects. In a non-ideal channel environment, there are multi-path propagations and NLOS propagations between cellular stations and mobile terminals. All these factors may affect position accuracy. To study signal measurements error characteristics, realistic channel environmental models for LOS and NLOS propagations are established. Bayesian reasoning method is made use of to estimate AOA measurements so as to effectively eliminate the interference of additive noises. Simulation results show that, in NLOS environment, the performance of this algorithm is superior at positioning to either pure TDOA or pure TDOA/AOA algorithm.
