Comfortable experience of conscious mechanically ventilated patients in ICU
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the comfortable experience of mechanically ventilated patients in ICU. Methods Nine mechanically ventilated conscious patients in ICU were included in this study. Their comfortable experience was recorded during interviews with a semi-constructive interview outline. Results Four aspects of experience were summarized from the interviews with the patients: 1. The most uncomfortable experience was constraint after waking from anesthesia followed by thirst early manifested as irritability, wanting to vomit and remove the intubation. 2. The most common psychological problems were to communicate with others and to be concerned. 3. The most urgent requirement was to withdraw the ventilator and remove from the ICU as early as possible. 4. The hope to survive was the support from their families. Conclusion Tracheal intubation greatly influence the physiology and psychology of conscious patients in ICU, therefroe personalized clinical nursing care should be provided in order to alleviate their discomfort.关键词
