Abstract
The America Red Dog Zinc Mine is the zinc mine with the largest zinc production in the world. It has the world' s largest sources of zinc. To the end of 2009 the mineral deposit has ore reserves of 56.1 million containing 16.6% Zn,4.6% Pb and 86g/t Ag, as well as ore resources of 32.8 million tones containing 13.5% Zn,4.6% Pb and 90g/t Ag. Red Dog mine is a conventional open-pit operation. The average daily mining rate will be 10, 000 tpd of high grade ores. Its stripping ratio ( waste : ore) is 0.8 : 1.0. The concentrator used a conventional SAG mill- selective flotation flowsheet. The zinc concentrates and lead concentrate were obtained. The zinc concentrates contain 55.2% Zn, 3% Pb and 137g/t Ag at zinc recovery of 87%. The lead concentrates contain 56. 1% Pb, 11.7% Zn and 1435g/t Ag at lead recovery of 58%. The capital cost of mine and concentrator approaches US $ 1 billions.关键词
