Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of pectoralis major myocutaneous flap and radial forearm free flap in oral cancer reconstruction. Methods: 30 patients with oral cancer were divided into 2 groups randomly. The oral and maxillofacial defects of the group A (n=15) were repaired by radial forearm free flaps. The tissue defects of group B (n=15) were repaired with modified pectoralis major myocutaneous flaps. The repair effects of the two different ways were evaluated. Result: The survival rate of flaps in groups A was 86.67% while those in group B was 100%. In group A, 6 cases disappeared of skin sensation in the donor hand within an area between the thumb and index finger, and the color in donor site were found deepen or sublimes in 4 cases. In group B, 4 cases showed asymmetrical level of breasts position. Conclusion: Both radial forearm free flap and pectoralis major myocutaneous flap show a high success rate. These two kinds of flaps may be adequate for repairing tissue defects during oral cancer surgery.关键词
