摘要

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a self-invented shoulder file on the marginal fit of Co-Cr alloy coping crown. Method: Prepare 6 Maxillary Central Incisors for the routine clinical operation in order to obtain their coping crowns by means of waxing (using both inlay wax and cervical margin wax) and embedded casting.then try them on. Make the silicon rubber film of the gap between the coping crowns and the tooth (control group). Afterwards measure thickness of marginal area of this film which is considered as the marginal gap through stereo microscope (100×zoom). Take advantage of the new tool to improve the form of the shoulder and obtain the data concerning about the marginal gap accordingly produced by repeating the same procedures mentioned above (experimental group). Statistical analysis was performed with the Program SPSS. Result: The thickness of silicon rubber film of the experimental group is (33.77±2.16) μm which is obviously inferior to that of control group (77.52±3.50) μm. The difference is significant in terms of statistics (P <0.01). With stereo microscope, we observe that the form of silicon rubber film of the experimental group is more even and smooth than that of the control group. Conclusion: Using the sharp blade of shoulder file is favorable to improve the smoothness of shoulder: The application of the shoulder file can improve the marginal fit of Co-Cr alloy coping crown.
