Separation flow control of beveled synthetic jet actuator in S-shaped inlet

Abstract
Design and process a type of beveled synthetic jet actuator with single membrane and dual chambers, and its application in the S-shaped inlet active flow control has been studied by using PSI DTC initium pressure scanning system. The results show that beveled synthetic jet actuator can suppress flow separation in S-shaped inlet, improve the total pressure recovery coefficient σ and reduce the pressure distortion DC90. Only by changing the actuator operating voltage and frequency, the flow control can be achieved within the S inlet. At the resonance frequency of synthetic jet actuator and the stream velocity V=80m/s, using beveled synthetic jet actuator can increase the total pressure recovery coefficient by 0. 37%, when the energy consumption of synthetic jet is only 0. 24% of the main stream.Design and process a type of beveled synthetic jet actuator with single membrane and dual chambers, and its application in the S-shaped inlet active flow control has been studied by using PSI DTC initium pressure scanning system.
