Cognition and Demands of Medical Waste Classification of Nursing Students

Abstract
Objective To understand the cognition and demands of medical waste classification of nursing students before practice and to improve their cognition and compliance of medical waste classification during practice. Methods A self -designed questionnaire was applied among 300 nursing students. Results The total score of the questionnaire was (76.06±9.93). The total scores of students with different age, gender and educational background indicated no statistic significance. Of the total, 75.3% once received medical waste classification training and 50.5% expected to study medical waste classification in practice. Conclusion Nursing students present insufficient cognition on medical waste classification. Basic education on medical waste classification and practice would promote the standardization of medical waste classification.关键词
