摘要

Abstract

For the open sluice with a high submergence degree,the equation of (A. 0. 1-1) in the Design Specification for Sluice (SL265-2001) results in the unreasonable results. Based on the formula, the calculated gate width is small and the calculated conveyance capacity is too large. It is suggested that the equation of (A. 0. 2-1) is better applied when the submergence degree, h,/H0 ,is in the range of 0. 90 to 0. 95. When the submergence degree,h5Ho, is higher than 0. 95, the equation (A. 0. 2-1) should be used. Otherwise, the calculations of the designed gate widths are relatively small and the actual upstream banked-up water depths are high if other equations are used.
