Abstract
Objective To assess the value of dimethicone powder in bowel preparation for colonoscopy. Methods Four hundred patients to be examined by colonoscopy were evenly randomized to experimental group and control group. Patients in the control group were given oral sodium phosphate solution, and those in the experimental group, dimethicone powder in addition to sodium phosphate was offered. Bowel cleaning and bubble inside the intestinal tract were observed. Results There was no significant difference between the two group in terms of intestinal lavage (P>0. 05) , but their difference was significant in terms of bubble-free and few-bubble rate ( X2 = 28. 39,P<0. 01). Conclusion Dimethicone powder can be used in bowel preparation for colonoscopy with a significant effect on defoaming in intestinal tract.关键词
