Protective effect of mogroside on carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatic fibrosis rats

Abstract
Objective To study the protection of mogroside ( Mog) on liver fibrosis in rats. Methods Rat liver fi-brosis was induced by 40% CCL4 twice a week for 12 week. Mog was used daily since the 7 th week. The effects of Mog on the activities of ALT and AST, the content of PIP, CIV in serum, the activities of SOD, the content of MDA in liver tissue was observed. The effect of Mog on TGF-β1 expression in liver tissue was observed and the histological changes of liver were detected. Results Mog could significantly reduce ALT, AST, MDA, HA, CIV and PIII NP contents, increase the level of SOD. Meanwhile, Mog could effectively reduce the degree of hepatic fibrosis and prevent the expression of TGF-β1. Conclusion Mog has protective effect on liver fibrosis.关键词
