Abstract
Objective:To know the contraceptive status in women after artificial abortion to provide background for further intervention and elevation of women reproductive health. Methods :The data of contraceptive knowledge and method before artificial abortion were collected and obtained by face to face interview and questionnaire then processed and provided responding intervention. Results:Total 726 cases were enrolled. Most of them (75.48%) were married and 57.99% enrolled women had experienced more than one abortion, and 24.52% women had artificial abortion in unmarried condition. The main reasons for unwanted pregnancy in this study were non-use or failure use of contraceptive methods. Those women knew a little a-bout condom, oral contraceptives and intrauterine device(IUD), and little about other contraceptive methods. Only 35.54% women knew that they could get contraceptive device and service free from family planning centers/stations and hospital nearby. Conclusions:It is urgent to decrease the repeated abortion and a-bortion in unmarried women. We need widely, persisted and deeply carry out family planning health education to elevate the consciousness and knowledge of contraception in reproductive women. It needs enhance reproductive health service after artificial abortion.
