The Expression of Estrogen Receptor and Progesterone Receptor in Endometrial Polyps Found in Infertile Patients

Abstract
Objective:To explore the expressionsy and significance of estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) in endometrial polyps found in infertile patients. Methods: From Sep, 2009 to April, 2010, the expressions of ER and PR were detected by immunohistochemistry in 50 infertile patients with en-domatrial polyps(EP group) and 29 infertile patients with normal uterine cavity, meanwhile the serumsex hormone level was determined by chemiluminescence. The general features of patients (including age,type of infertility, cause of infertility, time of infertility and time of specimen collection)were analyzed. Results:Serum estradiol level in EP group was significantly higher than that in control group (223.39 ±125.47 pmol/L vs 169. 96 ±87.46 pmol/L, P=0.046), however, there were no differences of the other indexes between the two groups (P>0.05). The expressions of ER and PR in EP group were not statistically different compared with the control group (P=0.085, P - 0.527). Conclusions: With regard to endometrial polyps without menstruation change in infertile patient, the long-term stimulation of higher estradiol level may induce endometrial polyps, but expressions of ER and PR in endometrial polyps were normal.关键词
