摘要

Abstract

The reaction mechanism and kinetic models for synthesis of aromatic polycarbonates and aliphatic polycarbonates by a transesterification-polycondensation method were summarized. The effects of reactor design and operating conditions on the reaction process were discussed. The applications of the polycarbonates in various fields were introduced briefly. The transesterification of diphenyl carbonate with bisphenol A followed tetrahedral mechanism and the production of the tetrahedral intermediate was the controlling step of the transesterification. Compared with traditional batch operation technologies, the continuous operation by using novel continuous rotation reactor such as continuous rotation disc polymerization reactor could produce high quality polycarbonates with relative molecular mass 20 000.
