Fuzzy Expression and Its Use in Press Conference Interpreting -A Study Based on Interpreting Transcripts
新闻发布会是发言人向媒体公布政府政策法规及真实情况的重要外交场合，发言人要做到周到得体，维护政府形象和公信。应实际需要，模糊语言就随之产生。本文主要利用记者会口译语料，从模糊限制词语和模糊数词这两方面来介绍模糊语言在新闻发布会场合的使用情况及其翻译策略。随着对外开放的需要，对模糊语言翻译的研究也有所成效。
Press conferences are important diplomatic occasions where the speaker informs the public of government poli- cies, regulations and information, using fuzzy expression for that purpose. Based on transcripts from press conferences, this essay explores the use of fuzzy expression in press conference interpreting by defining 2 concepts, approximators and vague numbers. Translation strategies will also be discussed.
