Abstract
Objective To study the diagnosis and treatment of plasma cell mastitis. Methods Hie data of 17 patients with plasma cell mastitis which were pathologically diagnosed were retrospectively analyzed. Results The patients were diagnosed as breast carcinoma (2), inflammatory mass (3), fibroadenoma (2) and plasma cell mastitis! 10) preoperatively. Twelve cases received partial lumpectomy, 2 segmental mastectomy and 3 abscess-drainage followed by lesions resection. One patient had recurrence several times and was subjected to simple mastectomy at the third hospitalization. Conclusions Plasma cell mastitis is usually misdiagnoaed before operation. Therefore both intraoperative frozen pathological and postoperative paraffin-embed pathological diagnosis should be performed. Surgical resection is the only complete and effective treatment of plasma cell mastitis.关键词
