摘要

Abstract

The channels of wireless mobile communication are time-varying ones, with complicated and adverse characteristics that have great influence on the transmission reliability of digital image signals. Image layered coding is flexible, which can mitigate the drastic change of image quality caused by the change of transmission conditions. It may also make image transmission robust and bandwidth-adaptive, which can solve the problem in image transmission when the transmission bandwidth is restricted. Issues such as the selection of layer number and the distribution of coding rate of basic layer and intensive layer are described, and the factors that influence them are also analyzed. A distribution method of coding rate of intensive layer based on rate distortion is proposed.
