Abstract

A mathematical model for reactive power optimization is proposed in this paper to solve the voltage quality problems in distribution network. Firstly, a new selecting method for the candidate sites of reactive power compensation is presented, which can dynamic select reactive power compensation sites based on minimum net loss. Then a multi-objectives function with minimum net loss, minimum capacity of the parallel capacitor, the best voltage level, the maximum first and second voltage stability margin are built, and the fuzzy method is used to change multi-objective problem with dimension into a single objective problem without dimension. Furthermore, the optimal sites and capacity of reactive power compensation are obtained by using of the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm, which can seek the global optimized solution effectively by comparing with other optimized algorithms. In the end, the LEE-33 bus distribution network is used as test system, and the results show that the reactive equipment scheme of distribution network obtained by proposed algorithm is better, network loss is obviously decreased, and voltage stability and voltage quality are significantly unproved.
