Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical and appearance - improving effects of installing thin artificial eyes on movable eye seats in patients with atrophied eyeballs. Methods 40 cases( 40 eyes )with mild or moderate atrophy of eyeball received conjunctival and Tenons capsule flap covering, and some of those patients also received allogeneic sclera wrapping. One month after the operation, the custom - made thin artificial eyes were installed in all those cases. Results After the treatment and installation of thin artificial eyes, the appearance - improving effect was satisfactory. Conclusion Patients' appearance can be significantly improved through preserving the atrophied eyeballs and installing thin artificial eyes after conjunctival and Tenon's capsule flap covering or allogeneic sclera wrapping.关键词
