Abstract
Ce-doped TiO2 nanoparticles were prepared by sol-gel process using the Ti(OBu)4 and Ce (NO3)3· 6H2 O as the main raw materials, then the prepared samples were characterized by XRD.DRS. TEM and BET techniques, and then the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange in aqueous solution was chosen as a model reaction to investigate the effect of Ce-doping on photocatalytic activity of nano- TiO2 irradiated by high-pressure mercury lamp. The results show that Ce-doping could improve the photocatalytic activity of nano-TiO2, effectively restrain the growth and phase transformation under high temperature of TiO2 nanoparticles, increase the specific surface area, and extend the spectrum response range of TiO2 nanoparticles to the visible region, and when Ce dopant quantity is 0.5%(in mole), the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanoparticles would reach the best state.关键词
