Abstract
Through typical cases, the characteristics of the powdery foreign matter in the generator were introduced. The origin and harm of the powdery foreign matterr in the generator were analyzed. The metal powder foreign matter was often from copper, iron (iron oxide), aluminum and tin. The nonmetallic powder foreign matter was often from paint, insulation material and so on. The powdery foreign matter can cause the reduction of the generator insulation, turn-to-turn short circuit of rotor winding and abnormal vibration. Six corresponding preventive measures of generator manufacture, maintenance, installation and operation were proposed, which can fundamentally eliminate powdery foreign matterr trouble and insure the safe and stable operation of the generator.关键词
