Abstract
Objective: Explore the process and effect of sandplay therapy on hearing-impaired children with ADHD. Methods: By case study, a 12-year old hearing-impaired boy with ADHD received 29 sessions in about 8 months, including 27 individual sandplay therapy and 2 family sandplay therapy sessions. Results: The process of hearing-impaired child with ADHD had specific features on sandtray setting, such as occurrena of sound, choice of toll and change of self-image. Sandplay therapy process was able to improve the communication between normal hearing therapist and hearing-impaired children, promote and reconstruct the personality development of children and then had significant effect on ADHD symptoms and their learning problems and parent-child relationship, even if after a long time. Conclusion: There are specific characteristics of hearing-impaired children' s therapeutic process and sandtrays. Sandplay therapy is as effective as psychotherapy for hearig—impaired children with ADHD.关键词
