摘要
Abstract
[ Objective ] The objertive of this study was to make a carbon dioxide (CO2) insufflator to evaluate safety and performance of COi insufflation in colonoscopy by animal experiment. [ Methods ] The insufflator is made of a regulator and a flow instrument. The safety and performance of CO2 insufflation in colonoscopy was evaluated with animal experiment. Twenty hybrid dogs with an average weight of 12.5 kg were randomized to CO2 group or to air group for colonoscopy. [ Results ] The effect of insufflation was equal to new insufflator with air pump in endo-scopic master station. The degree of bowl distention was slight in the CO2 group compared with the air group at 0, 5, 30, 60 minutes after the procedure (respectively P <0.001). There were no differences in PCO2 values in artery between the two groups before and after procedure (Air: P=0.414; CO2: P=0.868). [Conclusions] Carbon dioxide was found to be superior tn atmospheric air as an insufflating agent in coloscopy, which could become a standard gas.关键词
