摘要

Abstract

The performance of organic clay has direct effect on rheology and capability of cuttings in oil-based drilling fluid system. In this paper, the preparation method and clay types are introduced, and the chemical structure and performance of different organic are summarized. The comparison results show that the method of modified by quaternary ammonium is the most popular that the organic clay performances of high-temperature resistance and gel can be improved by modifying chemical structure of quaternary ammonium. However, the methods of alkaline calcium bentonite modification and alkane silica cross-linking agent surface modification are not applied in oil-based drilling fluid system yet.
