摘要

Abstract

The vector finite elements method with the second-order hierarchical basis is applied to the three-dimensional numerical simulation of slow-wave circuit of microwave tubes through which the high-frequency parameters can be obtained accurately. A convenient and fast approach of removing the spurious DC modes which appeared in the finite-element modeling of slow-wave circuits is proposed and a p-type multiplicative multigrid preconditioned implicitly restarted Arnoldi method is adopted to solve the resulting large-scale generalized eigenvalue problem. Combined with the two advanced techniques, a three-dimensional finite-element simulation tool for slow-wave circuits called MGES is developed. Through practical numerical example, MGES is validated. Moreover, it is found that MGES exhibits superior efficiency.
