A Low Voltage Ride-through Control Strategy for Direct-driven Permanent Magnet Wind Power Generation System with Flywheel Energy Storage Unit

Abstract
The operational behavior of the direct-driven permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) wind turbine with flywheel energy storage unit under grid symmetrical fault conditions is analyzed. Based on that, a coordinated control strategy for the generator-side converter, grid-side converter and flywheel motor-side converter is proposed to enhance the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) performance of the whole system. The proposed control strategy can not only keep the DC-link voltage stable, but also deliver proper reactive power from the system to the grid during the network fault, effectively enhancing the LVRT performance. The proposed control strategy is verified by the simulation results. Furthermore, the key factors that influence the LVRT capability are analyzed, and the LVRT ability of the system is assessed.关键词
