Abstract
Objective:To investigate the practical experience of laparoendoscopic single-site surgery ( LESS) in urology. Methods : Transumbilical LESS was carried out on 4 patients by one surgical team with gasless or normal approach. Two of them underwent transumbilical single-site laparoscopic high ligation of spermatic vein,the other two underwent renal cyst unroofing and adrenalectomy, respectively. The perioperative complications,operative time,estimated blood loss,postoperative recovery time of bowel peristalsis,postoperative hospital slay and postoperative follow-up of each patient were recorded. Results: All the operations were completed successfully with no perioperative complications. No incisional hernia or other postoperative complications were observed after a short-term follow-up(one month to two years). Conclusions:Initial study on LESS has shown its clinical safety and feasibility in urology,and this technique has an excellent cosmetic effect. With the accumulation of clinical experience as well as the improvement of instruments, LESS will have a place in urological surgery.
