Abstract

The microporous NaY zeolite was synthesized through in-situ crystallization using kaolin and diatomite in different pro-portions. The synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and N2 adsorption-desorption, respectively. The effect of different n(SiO2):n(Al2O3)(mole ratio), n(Na2O):n(SiO2) and n(H2O):n(Na2O) on the rela- tive crystallinity of the NaY zeolite was investigated when m(kaolin):m(diatomite)(mass ratio) was 6:4 and 2:8. The results show that when m(kaolin):m(diatomite) is 6:4, the relative crystaltinity of NaY zeolite firstly increases and then decreases with the increase of the n(SiO2):n(A1203). The increase of the n(Na2O):n(SiO2) and the decrease of n(H2O):n(Na20) in the reaction system could favor the formation of NaY zeolite. When m(kaolin):m(diatomite) is 2:8, the relative crystallinity of NaY zeolite firstly increases and then decreases with increasing the n(SiO2):n(Al2O3). However, the relative crystallinity of NaY zeolite decreases with increasing the n(Na2O):n(SiO2) and decreasing the n(H2O):n(Na2O).
