Abstract

The waste gas from the post-treatment unit of D-line of the thermoplastic styrene-butadiene rubber(SBS) production plant was treated by catalytic oxidation process. The removal rates of non-methane hydrocarbons and cyclohexane in the waste gas are both over 98%, and the mass concentration of non-methane hydrocarbons meets the emission standard DB11/447-2007 of air pollutants for petroleum refining industry(less than 100 mg/m3). After the two-reactor-process of the condensation unit of the SBS production plant was changed into the three-reactor-process, the mass concentration of non-methane hydrocarbons in the inlet of the catalytic oxidation reactor decreases from (3.84-5.82) ×103 mg/m3 to (2.48-2.63) ×103 mg/m3, and that of non-methane hydrocarbons in the outlet is less than 50 mg/m3. With the process modification of the condensation unit and the waste gas treatment by catalytic oxidation process, about 800 000 yuan per year are saved.
