Probing Materials for Measurement of Hydrogen in Liquid Lithium-Lead Alloy

Abstract
The dissolution behavior of hydrogen isotopes in liquid lithium-lead alloy is an important reference for the design of tritium extraction system in fusion reactor blanket. In order to solve the technical problem of hydrogen content determination in the liquid lithium-lead alloy and to develop the sensor for measuring hydrogen, a study for selection of a hydrogen-probing material among the candidates A12O3, SiCr SiO2-Cr2O3 and TiC was carried out. The results show that SiC is the most appropriate choice as a probing material if only the measurement equilibrium time, alloy melting temperature and thermal shock are taken into account. It possesses the characters of high accuracy, high thermal stability, straightforward readout, good resistance to chemical corrosion, and repeated thermal shock. The A12O3 and Si02-Cr2O3 are corrosible at high temperature lithium-lead environments. TiC tends to be oxidized at high temperature, but its measuring value is more close to the theoretical saturation value below 873 K measurement than SiC.关键词
