Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of bionic tiger bone (JINTIANGE capsule) on serum bone gamma-carboxyglutamic acid-containing protein (BGP) and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP 5b) in treating primary osteoporosis. Methods Eighty-six postmenopausal women with primary osteoporosis (60. 5 ± 3. 6 years of age) were included and treated orally for 3 months with JINTIANGE capsules (three tablets a time, three times a day). The serum level of BGP was measured by radioimmunoassay before and after treatment. The serum level of TRACP 5b was measured by enzyme-iinked immunosorbent assay. Results The serum level of BGP in patients was significantly increased after 3-month treatment (8.31 ±2. 41 μg/L vs 5.81 ±1.93 (μg/L,P < 0. 05). Furthermore, the serum level of TRACP 5b was significantly decreased after 3 months (2.49 ±0.81 u/L vs 4.26 ± 0.86 u/L,P< 0.05). Conclusion Bionic tiger bone is effective in treating osteoporosis by promoting bone formation and inhibit bone resorption.关键词
