OFDM-MIMO Radar Waveform Design for Extended Target Detection

Abstract
To detect an extended target, a waveform design method to improve the detection performance of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing-multiple input multiple output (OFDM-MIMO) radar is proposed under the background of the clutter plus noise with known statistic characters. Utilizing the match illumination theory and the frequency character of one dimension range profiles of the extended target, the radar echo vector model is given, and the target function to maximize the detection of the signal-to-clutter-plus-noise ratio ( SCNR) is built. The optimum transmit waveforms and their corresponding receive filers are obtained by using an alternate iterative algorithm. The simulation results show that SCNR increases, and the modulated OFDM-MIMO radar transmitting waveforms have robust performance of clutter resistance and can improve the SCNR and the OFDM-MIMO radar detection performance.关键词
