Calculation of Shrinking and Vanishing of Lingdingyang Sea at the Pearl River Estuary
摘要
Abstract
Shrinking and vanishing of the Lingdingyang Sea at the Pearl River Estuary would have significant influence on economic development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as the operation of Guangzhou Port. Many scholars estimated the vanishing time of the Lingdingyang with different methods, deriving different results. Analyzing the runoff characteristic of the inner Lingdingyang, by using methods of historical geomorphology and sedimentology, this paper calculates the shrinking and vanishing time with Lapshenkov formula of reservoir deposition. The result shows that: the evolution of the Lingdingyang from now to tidal flat stage would need 241 years, and to plain stage 342 years.关键词
