Abstract
Using the cotton varieties Zhongmian 12 and Zhongmian 19 with different salt tolerance as the materials, the effect of seed soaking with different concentrations of betain on germination and protective enzyme activity in cotton seedlings were studied under salt stress in this paper. The results indicated that salt stress inhibited the germination and root development, but increased the activity of SOD, POD and CAT. Soaking seed with lower concentration of betain could promote the development of roots, and increase the activity of SOD, POD and CAT and the content of praline. The effect was the best when the betain concentration was 600 n^/inl. The two cotton cultivars had the same reaction trends.关键词
