Abstract
When a passenger dedicated line crosses a river at a very small skew angle, the common double-track round-end pier can not meet the demands of river discharging on account of its large water blocking area. This paper, on the basis of bridge design for Harbin-Dalian Passenger Dedicated Line, introduces the design concept of using single cylindrical pier to cross a river. This type of pier is built in streamline without the limit of water flow skew angle, but the lateral stiffness is weaker. In this context, this paper introduces the design processes of single cylindrical pier with focus on the requirements of landscape, longitudinal and lateral stiffness, structural design and durability.关键词
