Abstract
The pointing accuracy is an important criterion for large aperture radio telescope ,which is used to evaluate the pointing capability of the antenna. It' s important for user to measure the pointing accuracy precisely. According to the operation characteristics of the radio telescope,this paper presents a method that makes the radio star as the radio source to measure the pointing accuracy. The paper introduces the main measuring principle taking the azimuth axis as an example, and designs the software and hardware as needed. Firstly, the operation characteristic and basic measurement theory of radio telescope are introduced and analyzed. Then the measurement method for antenna pointing accuracy, that radio star is adopted as emission source, is proposed. Subsequently, the constitution of the measurement system and the analysis of measurement results are presented. The results validate that the pointing accuracy of the antenna can be measured rapidly and exactly in the whole sky area by this proposed method.关键词
