摘要

Abstract

Yangxiong who wrote many books was a great Confucian in the late western Han Dynasty. He regarded Confucius traditional thought as his basic idea, and emphasized that he looked up to Confucius and took Confucius as his master, but he thought that Confucian could be exceeded. He argued that learning is lim- itless and Confucianism must develop with the advance of times. Therefore, he gave more negative appraisals than positive praises to ten great saints (they were Confucius's students, such as Zi You, Zi Xia, Zai Wo, Zi Gong, Yan Hui, Min Ziqiang and so on), and attributed their theories vanishing in the history to the fact that they knew the truth, but they didnt know why it was the truth.
