Simulation of property in different ozone contactors by using CFD

Abstract
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique was used to simulate the flow field and calculate the residence time distribution of different ozone contactors. The results showed that back flow and short-circuit flow exist obviously in ozone contactors. But some small changes occured as adding baffles in geometry that reduce the strength of recirculation zone and short-circuit flow. Although the flow fields between the contactor with vertical baffles and the contactor without baffles were completely different, the influence of the vertical baffles on the residence time distribution was small. This indicated that differences in flow field might have a small effect on residence time distribution. The additional horizontal baffles had a larger effect. The scope of the residence timedistribution became narrower, T10 was increased obviously.关键词
